Gas filler door on 72'
I started my work on my 72' this past weekend, and I'm totally stoked with the outcome. I can't wait to get the suicide door project started later this summer. I took the door off of a mid 90's S-10 bed from the wrecking yard. I'm also looking for idea's of getting rid of the exposed rear hinges, on my barn doors...any idea's..?

Yeah so far thats the only trim I'm keeping...? But thats still subject to change, as I'm still up in the air as to what color, and wether I'm going to 2 tone it yet..? My upper corner trim pieces are in great shape also... If I decide to not use em' I'll let you know...

The problem you will find with wanting the hinges to be inside the body is the curve of the body it self does not let the two pivot points to be in-line and leave room for the doors to open. They will bind with the body as the door were to try and open. Now if you mount both hinges down below the main body line you might be able to do it. I wanted to do the same thing on out 72 Tahoe but ended up going with a lift gate with hidden hinges like FF did but then went with half barn doors for the bottom with hidden hinges (yet to be installed).
