Looking for more advise on my 1980 GMC
I am guessing within 2 years I'll need to replace both doors on my truck. I think the ones on it now are aftermarket. Starting to rust along the inside on the bottom of the door. These doors don't come together perfectly with the cab corners when shut and the doors look to be aligned pretty well. They pull away a little at the bottom back corners. Am i correct in assuming any of the aftermarket doors are probably going to have issues with fitting correctly?Should I be looking out west for some original stuff that is rust free? Are there any oem doors out there to be had?Should I be looking into another alternative? I have some time before it's a must for my truck but I'd like to hear any suggestions you guys might have for me.

Re: Looking for more advise on my 1980 GMC
I just switched the nicer doors off of the 73 I sold to my 77 and they too
are both bent or "pooched" out at the corners, and they are alined perfectly with everything else. The 198? doors I had on it fit better, but dented, and I wanted the older panals. I would say get some newer 80s doors if the different door panal doesn't bother you, but keep and fix the old doors if you want it origanal. Until you're ready to fix it just pour some used oil in the door to keep it from rusting more. In fact you should oil the battery trey area and oil under the door sill plates while you're at it. The doors were the same for many years. I picked up 2 good doors from a 85 or 87 doors fit correctly on my 79 just need paint. I think 77-87 will interchange someone will correct me if I am wrong.

the 86 i just bought is 100% GM, and is a "cherry", and still the doors stick out at the bottom, and dont line up all that good with the cab corners
