drop member parts list and prices help

ok so i'm looking into forcing myself to buy the drop member even before my truck is done and fully set up for bags. just because i know it's gonna bug me that my truck doesn't fully lay out. so this is what i think i'll need and my total cost out the door. please let me know if i'm missing or should change something.

dropmember from nathan (i think the price went up recently) - $1200 plus shipping

1979-1993 Mustang Power rack - Unisteer Performance 8010020 - $322

or

1979-1993 Mustang Power Rack - Autozone Astco 6406 - $74.99 plus core

Column end u-joint:
1"DD by 3/4DD (Unisteer part#8050310) - $76.95

1"-48spline by 3/4DD (Unisteer part#8050320) - $76.95

3/4-36 spline by 3/4DD u-joint. (Unisteer's part# for this u-joint is 8050240) - $76.95

The Unisteer part# for the 3/4DD steering shaft is 8050520 - $32.40

steering lines (little confused here) but jegs has a gm self contained to 1979-1993 mustang power rack with rubber hoses. part #153-925102 - $62.99

also i already have bags, shocks, and all other airline parts.

so by my fast and estimated math for shipping i get roughly..

$1300 for nate
$100 for autozone
$300 for unisteer
$75 for jegs

roughly $1775 plus a few bucks for extra jack stands i need to buy and some random tools.

am i missing anything?

can any of those parts be found cheaper? (ive seen flaming river prices much cheaper then unisteers but don't know if there the same part or quality)

can i go wrong saving 200 bucks on a lifetime warranty rack from autozone?

must the motor be completely removed or can it just be pulled off the mounts and hung?

am i correct in assuming that the 73-87 trucks do not need a new driveshaft?

thanks for the help guys

Hey tds, I installed it w/ the motor in, you are gonna need a cherry picker and alot of jack stands if you are doin it urself. Check out my build project bowdwn. I used an autozone rack and it works just fine, found the joints at a local hotrod shop for half the price. I believe nate lower the price of the dmember to $900 I think, you can use the same driveshaft.

Parts list looks good. Buy the cheap rack unless you just have to have the bling. Driveshaft will probably have to be modified, but you may luck out. Don't forget about the other stuff, like hood hinges and inner fenders...
