I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
Ok- It has been quite some time since I posted here.... and there are a ton of people on here that have NO clue who I am or whatever.... but after some life altering changes..... I am BACK!!!!
Just thought I'd drop by and post some pics of my "new" toy.... 1988 Suburban... 100% rust free.... 91K actual miles..... Nicely optioned Silverado model..... ( I wish it had buckets and the missing third seat but I digress) Everything works even the AC..... Not necessarily my "favorite" color combo, but it has grown on me.....

Welcome back!
I like the 'burb'. Color combo, wheels, dog dishes, the whole works. It looks cool just like it sits.

I'm with lolife99... glad to have you back crews!
I'm also curious about the '68 Burb.... I would love to see that garage stuffed with both of those burbs in there. Is that a local rig?

Re: I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
hey thanks for the compliments....
As far as suspension mods- it has spindles/ springs up front and shackles/ hangers in the rear. I have some minor issues to resolve on the rear becasue when it is full of fuel, the leaf spring wants to collapse the fuel filler hose. the truck is actually a Texas truck ( gotta love those dry southern climates) that I found pretty much as it sits on a little used car lot north of town on a Sunday afternoon. I won't say what I paid for it...but I will admit that I STOLE it.... I love this thing! Just crusing around in it puts a smile on my face.... and I don't care that some people think it is a "waste" of a Suburban... ( some snot nosed kid made that remark the other day as I drove past him...) As far as the 68- Sorry to report it is gone. I sold it to a fellow board member when I realized that I wasn't going to be able to work on it with the impending divorce. So it became a small casuality in the the fall out. So now the divorce is final- (I am FREE!! YEAH!!!! ) and I am on to bigger and better things..... at least I hope!!! Oh yeah- anyone know any hot, single women in say a 500 mile radius of St. Louis..... send 'em my way!!!

Re: I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
I appreciate the sentiments on the divorce.... but you know what they say-
Everything happens for a reason.... It has been a rough two years but things are finally resolved and life is getting better all the time.... As far as the hubcaps- I think those are just some service caps from the same late 80's era. I have seen them on full size cars used as taxi cabs and such. I jus tlike 'em because they are simple.... I have a set of truck/ van rallies that I was going to paint to match but I think I'll stick with the steelies for now.... Liz- Sorry I have been absent for so long.... Just been trying to stay afloat!! As far as it being a "waste".... The locals here are VERY much pro 4wd so anything that isn't sitting on 35's is a "waste" in their eyes..... I just laugh because I have an 08 2500 HD at home when I need 4wd.... The 'Burb is the fun one though..... Anyhow Hope to get the Burb out to a few shows this year and mingle again if nothing else....

Re: I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
Let's see..future plans.....
Not really much- I am actively looking for a nice third seat for it.... and long term I would like to find a set of tan Blazer "sport" buckets and a console. Oh- and I need a really nice grill- the one in it has a few broken bars... I might also try a set of billet wheels at some point just to change it up... but that is still in the thought stages... Other than that- I might freshen the tranny and just cruise the wheels off of it.... It does have some old hidden damage in the drivers door that looks like it was repaired many years ago- I don't think I will repalce the door or fix it again for a few years... I don't want to ruin the whole early patina paint it has goin on.... there is something to be said for having all of the OEM sheetmetal on it....

Re: I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
Just happened to take a peek in the Burban/Blazer threads and saw this. That is one smooth looking Burban you have got. People here like to hate on low trucks too. I am new since you were on here before it sounds, but welcome back anyway. And again...GREAT LOOKING RIDE!

Re: I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
i love it. nice drop, patina, wheels and color. dont spend money on wheels. those look good. might add some trim rings.
lawrence swap meet was two weeks ago. i did not see a third seat but will keep my eyes open. i assume tan cloth we have an 05 burb family car. i'd love to trade it for a square fuelie

Re: I'm baaaaaacccckkkkkk..........................
Yeah the interior is tan cloth.....
back seat looks like new.... And I can't do trim rings...just not my taste... I had actually thought about doing the Centerline "smoothie" and painting the centers tan and leaving the polished lip...
