I didn't know they offered it in SS. I got mine off of Ebay and it's not SS. It came from an individual that didn't want the poly bushings.

Re: cab hardware kits

I meant the full hardware kit...bolts,nuts, screws, all fasteners. Some have stainless, some polished

I guess I can't read. I had cab mounts in mind last night since I just sit my cab on the frame.

Bob:

Totally Stainless offers stainless and mild steel. I get a lot of my stuff there and they offer complete kits or individual items.

Re: cab hardware kits

Joe,
Yeah, price is the main factor....although from what i have seen it might make sense to buy stainless...just not polished.

Alan, I just put my cab mounts on last night and so I had a good laugh when you mentioned that. When I started looking at those old rusty bolts holding the hinges on, I thought this just can't be right to do this, even on a driver!

Re: cab hardware kits

I found a company in SC that seemed like some good guys to work with.(Trucks USA)

http://www.trucksusa.net/

You have to call to order, but their prices were half of most of the others. $95 for the cab set in hex head. I'll let you know how the quality is.

Re: cab hardware kits

Well....I didn't really ask....but it does say "These kits DO NOT include Bed Mount or Bed Strip Hardware. We recommend Anti-Seize on all stainless steel fasteners." and the options are regular hex or polished. So....I'm assuming.

I did find that you can order from their site.

Here is the page I ordered from http://www.trucksusa.net/Bed%20Bolt%...hvtrbkits.html

Re: cab hardware kits

This is kinda off topic but a good place to ask, I guess. I was told once that using stainless fasteners on carbon steel will, over time, cause the carbon to corrode/rust. The guy that told me this was in the business of selling fasteners (i.e. bolts, nuts, screw, etc.) and I had asked him about getting me some SS stuff for a car I was working on at the time. Anybody know for sure?

that is what I read also, which is why I was curious...thought maybe they told you for sure on the phone...

Tim,
I know that any dissimilar metals will produce electrolysis and cause corrosion, usually the weaker metal is the one that is eaten...although stainless and mild steel are both steel...so I'm unsure of the effects
just my little bit of input

Re: cab hardware kits

The fella that told me this may also have been referring to fasteners in a more extreme environment. He sold quite a bit of stuff to the shipyards and I would guess that the humidity and salt in my area may exaggerate(sp?) the effects. I'm just sorta wondering out loud on this...
