stripped threads on fuel inlet
Does anyone know where I can get an oversize fuel inlet for my 69? It has the original carb with the 7/8 size. My local parts store is having a hard time finding one. It seems that only the 1 inch is available. Thanks.

Re: stripped threads on fuel inlet
If it's stripped you may be able to have it rethreaded and get an adapter. You may have to go to a carburetor shop to do it, though.
I remember buying a rebuilt carb some years back that came with an adapter for the fuel inlet. It leaked so I returned it. |

Re: stripped threads on fuel inlet
Are you talking about wrench size? Or fitting size?

Re: stripped threads on fuel inlet
Thanks for the help, Gesslers has a 7/8 inch self tapper for about $9.00 + shipping.

Re: stripped threads on fuel inlet
I had the same problem and the locql APS's couldn't even find one to order.I happened by a Speed Shop and stopped. He had a whole wall full of all types.I gues the racers are the only ones using carbs these days.
