bags
i have a 68 chevy long bed and i have never done bags. i am going to buy the slam specialties fbss 1/2'' valve kit. what else do i need to buy for this truck so that it will be done right.i dont want to lay frame or anything just want to bag it so it will lay low. thanks jeff

really you dont need 1/2" valves. 3/8" are cheeper and plenty fast IMO.

I agree. !/2" can be hard to control and fine tune.

how low do you want to go? You are going to need a notch for the rear if you are going to drive it low. I would consider spindles for the front and mounting brackets/ cups for the front. The rear can just bolt in place of the springs. Do you have a adjustable panhard bar? If not you will need one, or you can go with a watts link, but its not necessary, just cool.

if i remember correctly the adj. panhard is cheaper than the watts link. if you arent wantin to lay you dont have to get drop spindles. i cant seem to find the kit youre talkin about. from my experiance the SMC valves work the best and last the longest

ok so go wiith 3/8 and wut is a panhard bar? im new to this. this is my first bagged project that me and my friends from votech are doing. i want to be able to drag the rear and let sparks fly. and when you say notches do i have to cut the frame?

A panhard bar is the bar that locates or "centers" your axle. If you C-notch, you will have to "notch" the frame and reinforce where your cut is made.

I highly suggest the search button being your best friend, I you are just looking to replace the spring bags thats kool not to hard, but your wanting to make a frame dragger they there is a whole mess of fabrication that will need to be done. If I where you I would look at allot of others peoples set-ups to get an idea on what it will take..

if you want to drag you will need more than a c notch. You are going to need a step notch.

i would recommend the notches from suicide doors you can get the cups and everything from them too. they have pretty much everything you need to bag your c10. Also if you do want to lay frame then SD and PorterBuilt make dropmembers for the front end that are really nice and they keep you from having to Z the frame.
