83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project
What's up everyone. I'm Nick, 17 years old, from just outside of Wichita, Kansas. This is my 83 Stepside. Can't wait to start on it and learn from everyone along the way!
Didn't have a stereo in it, so that was the first thing my dad and I did. Temporary cardboard 6x9 box |

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project
Yeah the corner speaker brackets that Jeff is making are nice. I have a set ordered for his next run of them. Joe231 has a set that I have checked out, and they are slick. It would free up some seat space for ya!
Looks good man, defintely a nice starting point. |

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project
Those 6x9 brackets are real nice, I might get a set. Thanks for the comments. Right now I'm just enjoying driving this truck, it's straight as an arrow and runs great, I think we can all agree these are great trucks!

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project
Looks good man, I need to do the same to mine. Suprising how dirty it gets just sitting there.
That is a straight truck. What does the bed floor look like? There is a company here in OKC called Mar-K. They are great guys, and are a Made In USA company. Last edited by JohnC; 06-22-2009 at 03:49 PM. |

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project
You could always do a raised wood floor after you bag it. Never seen a wood one done that way, but I bet it would look cool.

That's a cool idea! I've never seen it either. Might consider doing that!

Re: 83 Short Step. First vehicle=First Project
It's goin' to be quite a while before that happens! But John do you got any pic's of that? The way I would like to do it is make it raise up, like were a tunnel would be for the notches

I've never seen it done with a wood bed, but here is one that was posted of a fleetside.

House of Kolor Tangerine Orange w/ Orion Silver Stripes. I'm leaning toward the blue, although I love Orange trucks. And both would be sprayed over an Orion Silver base.
