Re: manual transmission
Think it through. You would need everything that is related to a manual tranny. That includes clutch pedals, and related linkage.

Re: manual transmission
Not hard once you have all the parts. My truck had a 700r4 from the factory, now a m21 muncie 4spd.

Re: manual transmission
Exactly, this is not a hard swap. My K10 used to have a TH350/NP205 and I swapped in a SM465/NP205 about 10 years ago. What made my swap easier was I acquired a complete donor truck to swap parts with, which I had to turn the donor back into an automatic to resell. Basically swapped parts between the trucks.
Converting the original manual truck to an automatic was much easier than converting my automatic truck into a manual as there are a few difficult holes to drill for the trans cross member as well as holes in the cab plus the fact I had to reseal both the 465 and 205 and rebuild the front drive shaft, etc. When they were both done you couldn’t tell either truck had gone through a sex change. With buying, pirating parts and reselling the manual trans swap cost me nothing. In fact, I even made money on the deal even after the costs of a new Centerforce clutch, rebuilding the front driveshaft and resealing everything.

Re: manual transmission
i pretty much will ONLY buy manual trannys for my trucks and cars..
the auto in my opinion neuters your ability to control everything when mudding or street driving.. plus an auto to me is boring.. i start texting talking on the phone not paying attention...... because i have nothing to do but mash the gas... and the conversion is EASY it's just time consuming and parts are costly..
