Engine Tower ID?
I need some help identifying which towers are which.I always just knew what was what by knowing what motor was in the truck they came from.I`ve had these so long I`m not sure and want to make sure before trying to sell them.
Aren`t these I6 250 towers? And,these are SBC?

Re: Engine Tower ID?
The first set look like 68-71 BB towers. Not sure on second set.

Re: Engine Tower ID?
Thanks Bill. That explains why I couldn`t find my V6 towers, lol.I thought I had them tagged and that`s what I was looking for.I knew I6 towers put a 8 up higher in the frame or something,so that`s whay I though they could be I6s.Thanks again.

Re: Engine Tower ID?
The second ones are non 292 inline 6 towers.
I'm pretty sure the first ones are 68-71 big block. Without better pictures, I cannot say for sure.

Re: Engine Tower ID?
I was the one that received the towers, and I am unsure of their application. These are the same set as the top picture in the first post. I have a small block that is in the stock v6 location so I needed the towers that mount in the back holes. I thought the v6 towers were the same as the non-292 I6 tower. Anyways here are some pics of these towers with a small block tower for comparison. It appears that these are the same length as the small towers so they mount in the forward holes. Also, I thought that the 68-71 big block towers were the only ones with the large holes and the dish for the manifolds. Any help is appreciated.
Here are the towers in question: The tower in question is on the left, a small block tower is on the right: Once again unknown tower on left, small block tower on right: Thanks in advance

Re: Engine Tower ID?
for right now I want to leave it in the rear position to avoid modifying the driveshaft, moving the bellhousing crossmember, etc. This is why I was buying the v6 mounts; I thought they were the same as the non 292 I6 mounts.....still not sure if they are or not.

Re: Engine Tower ID?
I just took out a set of I-6 mounts, it had a 350/3 on the tree seting on them...If you need pics of the mounts I can grab some and post. I went with SB mounts and cut off my manual trans mount for a 350/ 700 r4 conversion.

Re: Engine Tower ID?
Thanks for the offer, but I found some pics of the I6 ones on another thread. I'd be interested if anyone has pics of the v6 towers and if they know if they had the large hole or not and what position they mount in. So can anyone ID the towers in the pics with the large holes?

Re: Engine Tower ID?
V8s sit forward. It sounds like the V6 sits back like the inline according to your truck`s transmission mount location. If the towers I sold you are big block (I don`t think they are) I`ll refund your money and pay for return shipping.
