My new truck!! 92 suburban....
I normally hang out in the 60-66 side of the board... but my car is on its last legs so i bought me a suburban. it has 30k on a rebuilt 350 (so the PO said..). runs and drives great. needs the front end rebuilt, ac compressor, EGR work(throwing a code). has brand new tires. near perfect interior. has a few dings but no big deal. i already knocked a huge dent out of the passenger door as best i could. it looked like someone kicked it. future plans include a gen III engine swap. im thinking 5.3l/4l60e. new dash pad, its cracked under the cover. after i get all the body work done it will get repainted, eaither the same color as now or like the picture below, not sure yet. only paid $1200 and its tagged and inspected, and runs and drives. i think i got a steal.
anyway heres some pics. John

The '92's are the same body style as the '88 to '98 body styles.

I'd get all the mileage I could out of that paint, it looks sweet as-is.

Re: My new truck!! 92 suburban....
Definately keep the stock colors. Is that Dark Blue or Black, I can't tell in the pics. I would get the molding back on, change the PS Mirror to match the DS mirror, lower it and call it good.
Looks real clean for being 18 years old...

Re: My new truck!! 92 suburban....
my cousin was ragging on my that my burb was a junker when i went to visit the other day. he is a jeep guy and his jeep is sitting in the driveway right now, right where its been for a few months now. you can guess the response he got... lol you know i dident even notice until you said something that the mirrors were different. lol the Bendix on the starter was not engaging fully and was getting bad so i swapped starters, idle air control valve, front brakes and lines and its alot better. when i got it, it was pulling to the right when you hit the brakes. it runs great but for sure will be getting an engine upgrade/update in the near future. the front end is fine btw, it was in the gear box. a little adjusting fixed that still need egr valve. checked voltage at the compressor and its not getting power when you turn the ac on. it has a leak in the ac system bad enough to hear it so im guessing its just low. the PO said it needs an orifice tube. i guess hes right. lol
i guess this can be my build/update thread. ill post as i get stuff done. after i get the egr and ac fixed ill move on to the interior. im gonna put captains chairs up front and a custom center console. new dash pad, lose the wood grain on the dash. i had 4 15" subs in a box but after i got them in and used them for a while one blew. the box was stored on end in a garage and i guess one end got wet and it rotted the sub on that end. im going to use two and build a new box. its gonna get infinity speakers all around. tweeters in the custom console. im also gonna add speakers eaither in the back doors or under the middle seat. i cant even hear the speakers in the back. lol i want a sort of surround sound system. im keeping the paint also. fix the head liner. after the interior is done i should have the parts collected for the engine swap. it will be a bit more work but i guess ill go for the 6.0l/4l80e. i just want to have everything i need so when i do the swap it will be done in a week. to do that ill just grab another drive shaft from another burb and have that one cut down to fit so i wont have to wait for that. with the 4l60e it would be the same length as the 700r4. anyways i guess thats good for now. sorry for the long post. Thanks, john
