removing drag link HELP
I'm need to get my drag link off and having trouble . I've heated the plug up many times ,used penitrating lubes and nothing. I'm using a chisel in the slot with a huge adjustable on it . It is right handed threads ? thanks

Heres a little trick I use. Lay the link threaded area on a flat surface like an anvil and hit the side of it with a hammer. not hard but frimly tap it and rotate the link so you get the whole circumfrence of the threaded area. The screw should be trunable after a few attempts. If you can't get it out of the truck just hit the side of it as best you can. It has never failed me yet.
You should try to get a drag link socket, it makes it much easier to turn out the screw. You can get a whole set at sears for about $30. or google drag link socket for an online vendor. Yes it is a right hand thread Last edited by dwcsr; 07-19-2009 at 01:07 AM. |
