Suburban rear bumper question...
My 63 burb has a yucky step bumper out back. I hate it.
The front looks just like the rear in some pics I se online. Are they the same? I would love to find a slightly used chrome rear bumper to put on, but at this point, anything is better than the step. Not a fan of those at all. Talk to me.........

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
I think the mount holes are different, although they look very much the same. I'll have to go look.

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
the back frame is almost 6" wider than the front so that means the same for the mounting bolts.
that is for a 64-66 ron |

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
Ran out in the middle of a monsoon wind storm and took these pics. The rear bumper appears the same as the front, only minus the plate holes and it is mounted wider than the front. I'm pretty damn sure mine is stock. You can even see the dimples where the bumper would be drilled if it was used for the front.

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
Thanks for risking life and limb in a monsoon for me
Well, my rear brackets are MIA due to the crappy step, so if I can find a decent used chrome front bumper, I will make it work... Nothing a couple extra chrome carriage bolts wont cure...haha So Im on the lookout now. Thanks guys

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
Suburban/Panel rear bumpers look a lot like 60-62 front bumpers. The position of the bolts look very similar...

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
I was thinking the rear bumper had a different curve to it.
But I checked mine tonite with a straight edge and it sure looks the same. I think your plan will work, it's at least worth a try. |

Re: Suburban rear bumper question...
I know. Bummer.
I'll just have to wait til a decent used chrome bumper comes around. I'll make it work, one way or another...
