Getting ready to order my wheels and would like to double check my #'s. anybody out there have pics of there wheels and know what the backspacing is? Greatly appreciate this and thanks in advance.

I think most would know it as Offset.

I could be wrong but I think offset and backspacing are two different things. For instance. Hypothetically speaking, if you had a 10" wide wheel and you had a zero offset it would actually be a 5" backspace. I'm just looking for backspacing. I want to go with a 9.5" wide wheel with, say a 5 1/4 - 5" backspace and was wondering what it looked like ie. dish vs.tuckedness(is that a word?)Thanks for the reply.

These are 18.5" x 9.5's with 5.25 backspacing.

Ahh ok. Parts stores may classify it different. I know our tire balancer specifies rim offset.

Slammed67, love those wheels. thats gonna be a bad arse ride.

Thanks slammed67. I was leaning towards the 5.25 but just wasn't sure how the dish would look. Looks like your doin a great job on that truck. I see on some trucks in the magazines with a deep dish, but they don't specify if they shortened the rearend or not.

I went with 5"bcksp on my 17x9.5's, I like them dished in a little more. I'll post a pic when I can get freephoto reloaded.

On my daily driver I have 15x10 Billet Specialities with 4-1/4 backspacing for that deep dish look.

Slammed67; I don't mean to single you out. You have a real nice rig there. Have you thought about what WILL happen (if you shread that tire at speed) to your fuel pump and line. Can you reroute that behind the frame?

On this dish topic. When you measure for your wheels you will have 2 numbers. the space inside your wheelwell. say is 13 inches total. give yourself some room, say 1 1/2 inches on either side. That leaves you 10 inches to play with. (Don't we all wish.) what you have to figure out now is where to line up your wheels hub to use all that room.
So measure across that 10 inches and put a straight edge from the face of your rotor/drum (where the wheel bolts to) up to your tape measure. The number your staight egde lines up with is your negative backspacing, if you measured from inner fenderwell out. Positive backspacing if you measured from the outside fender lip into the center.

How much dish a wheel has is the result of backspacing and what the wheels made of. A steel wheel will be thinner than an aluminum
wheel and have more dish even though it measures the same backspacing. You measure the dish from outside the rim to OUTSIDE center hub. Backspacing is always measured to the inside face of the center hub.
I don't know evrything and I ain't to old to learn, but I have never seen a set of wheels sold by the "dish" they have.

Thanks for all the replies. I know this is kind of a subjective subject. I made a jig that would give me various types of backspacing. I narrowed it down to either 5" or 5.25". I'm going with billet specialties with a 20" rim. The 5" backspacing looked like it might rub as the truck gets lowered so I opted to go with the 5.25 to give me a little more room.The truck as it sits now is @ 6" off the ground at the back bedside.Slammed67 you convinced me seeing that you went with the same manufacturer. I'm going with the HP45.Hope to post some pics when I get them.Again, thanks guys for your time.
