another new guy from Texas...
What's up everybody... =)
Always wanted an old full size truck and finally broke down and got one this weekend... actually found out the guy I got it from is a member on here so if I can figure out how to do a search for his posts I'm gonna do a little digging and hopefully not find out I just bought a POS. Anyway, it's an '81 K5 Blazer 2wd... kinda rough but I've got high hopes for it. Need to get it dropped asap but I'm trying to do some reading on here before I start asking y'all a bunch of stupid questions. I've also got a '96 Impala SS I've been working on for the last few years (I should be finishing it instead of starting a new project), a '94 Caprice with the LT1 (basically the same car) that's my daily, and a '69 AMX that's pretty clean but I keep neglecting. =/ Blah blah blah... just wanted to say hi to everybody. Don't wanna bore you... just getting my feet wet. =) -Reggie

Tri-Y headers, x-pipe, intake, computer tune, shift kit etc. 15" L7, Memphis Amps, Diamond mids & highs... daily beater / project. -'69 Amx... pretty stock, pretty slow, but pretty. Built tranny w/custom stall, headers & exhaust... blew 401 so it's got weak 360 in it now. Yet another project. |

Re: another new guy from Texas...
to the board from Mid-MO!!!
You'll find this place to become your second home. There's tons of information, friends, parts, .... and so much more. I'm glad to hear the PO made sure to pass along the board, and my guess is that if they recommended the site, then they know what they're doing in terms of working on the new Blazer. Be sure to check out the 73-87 message board, and keep us posted on your progress.

Re: another new guy from Texas...
Wow... thanks for the warm welcome fellas. I'm used to getting on forums and kinda getting ignored for a while, this is a nice surprise.
I had to Google Sachse Tx btw haha... 72BlckButy: The previous owner actually didn't recommend the board to me, I've just been lurking around here a little while trying to learn some stuff and drooling over y'alls trucks. Just happened to stumble across some pics in the "How about some pics of 2wd Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?" thread and was like "Hey, that's my truck!". Small world I guess. I have a question for y'all though if anybody's still reading this far... when I go to people's profiles and click on "Find all previous posts by..." or "Find all threads started by..." it says I don't have permission or something. What's that about, do I have to have a certain post count to be granted access to certain things? Seen some really nice trucks I wanted to get more info on but that makes it a little bit more difficult. ANyway, thanks again for the warm welcome... I'm sure I'll be living on this forum for a while. Once I learn my way around you'll probably be sick of me.

Re: another new guy from Texas...
Yep, Sachse, just north east of Dallas.
I am wondering why your post count is staying at 0... Maybe that is why you can't look the info up. Maybe try posting something in the 73-87 section. Maybe you just need to show one post... Maybe you don't increase your post count by posting in the "Welcome area". I have never paid attention to it. Post pics up in that section. And Once again WELCOME to the board. It is a great place with very nice people and lots of knowledge. |

I had to post outside the "Noob" area, for my post count to start.

Re: another new guy from Texas...
Thanks Low Dough... that explains it, I was wondering why my post count wasn't going up. I've been holding off on posting anything in the other sections just so I wouldn't bother people with dumb questions I can search for but I'm kinda unclear on a few things so I may do that right now. Appreciate the help... everybody on here's been really nice so far.
Thanks to Rbeau30 too... I noticed a few other people's post counts not going up so I didn't think much of it, I've only really been paying attention in the Welcome section since the post counts are lower though so glad to hear it worked for you. -Reggie

Re: another new guy from Texas...
Hmmm... does anybody know if there's a certain number I need to hit to be able to find other posts by someone? I started a thread in the Blazer section and chimed in on another one but still not having any luck.
Don't wanna run around giving generic comments just to get my post count up like "nice truck", "looks good", "subscribed"... ya know? If I don't have something legit to say or contribute on forums I usually keep my mouth shut. =/ If that's what it takes I can do that though...
