WIW extra fuel tank under bed fiberglass
an old family friend had this on his 69 or 70 c-10 til the selector valve went bad, he took it off since he just ran around town in it and ended up giving it to me. fits a long bed coil truck under drivers side of bed between the bed side and frame rail between the cab and tire. what do you think its worth? not cracked or anything, just need rinsed out maybe coat it so be sure and a new gas cap, i believe our regular caps fit it.

How does this tank mount? I don't know what it is worth but it is a nice piece for someone I would like to have it but I'm sure shipping would eat it up.

Re: WIW extra fuel tank under bed fiberglass
i don't have straps with it but looks like it had a couple 2in wide straps, but rubber between it and the box and the frame and it and a support I don't see how it could really go anywhere...

Re: WIW extra fuel tank under bed fiberglass
That tank looks similar to what I had in my '68 1/2 ton. I had one on each side and they bolted exactly where you said, one in the space forward of the tire and the other in the spot on the opposite side. The truck came with them when my dad bought it back around 1982 and they are mirrored. I don't know the origin of them and I've never seen any others like them so far. On mine, they mount by two long bolts (about a foot and a half or so) that run through holes in the tank itself. I believe the holes are sealed so the tanks don't leak. They are they same type of bolts that secure the bed to the frame. On mine, the bolts held the tank to the bed.
I'll take some pics of them since they are out of the truck. I am going to clean them up and possibly reinstall them on my '70 since I'm using the body off the '68 to build up the '70. I know this doesn't really answer your question since you don't have the holes in your tank, but I thought I'd share since you have a similar tank to mine. |
