66 shortbed for parts/full resto
I am looking at a 66 but honestly only want it for the narrow posi rear. I would sell the truck or part it to recoup some of the purchase cost....it is a wood bed shortbed...bed crossmembers need replacing but sides and gate seem decent. Hood is good other than some dents. Doors have rust in bottom. Comes with repro floor pans and rockers and needs them. Needs a rad support. No engine...350 trans. Probably worth more parted out I assume but want to check and see WIW as a roller as well.

Interior seems all there but nothing special.

Id say $700 is a little high. The bed, doors and hood may be the only parts really wanted from it. Im speaking from a cali point of view. I dont know how the market is over there.

Yeah, cali numbers are definitely low for trucks from what I've seen....I can't imagine finding a rust free longbed that's running for under 4-5K around here and I hear of guys on here getting them for free and always under 500...

Re: 66 shortbed for parts/full resto
Plus, I would offer less than the 700 since it's best offer and he's been sitting on it for a while...The posi rear (narrower than mine also for bigger rear rims) is supposed to be newly rebuilt with a modern posi unit which is really the only part I want from the truck. I plan to pull the inspection cover and drums to check everything out before buying since that's what I'm really buying the truck for.

Posi rears go for $300-$400 no? The bed will bring at least $250. Id say you would make it back.

Re: 66 shortbed for parts/full resto
I'd say $500 to $600 for it.
