Re: CL Adds

I thought the TX guys were lucky in finding awesome clean trucks, but it looks like the CA guys are too. I really need to win the lottery. Looks like a nice truck.

Re: CL Adds

Texas has always had an abundance of squares because it's a truck oriented state.

California, Arizona, and oddly enough Colorado seems to be where the really clean ones still reside.

We still have them here because it is very dry. We are technically in a desert. Even though we get snow in the winters (now the mag chloride will eat em alive) we don't get much for pecipitation. And there is almost no humidity. We can leave a vehicle in bare metal here for years and not have a problem...not driving of course.

Yup, my 68 was proof of that. No primer on any bare metal for 4-5 years, not a spec of rust to be found.

I like how this ad, and a lot of others, will say stuff like this: AC WORKS BUT NEEDS TO BE CHARGED.

If it needs charged, it's probably not working too well!

I was in Colorado this summer and saw a time machine short bed driving down the street. Just driving through the neighborhood, we saw lots of nice cars parked in peoples garages. It seems like people there have a winter beater, and then a nice summer toy that stays hidden away.

Re: CL Adds

I was going to say Ca sucks, because there are so many clean trucks cheap, But LiveAnimals is right. They do need good homes. Now if I only had a place to store the stuff I already have, I could think about stuff like this.

Re: CL Adds

That is very true. That and there is alot of people who bought cars back in the 40s-80s and then parked them next to the barn for years and other than mice getting to wires and what not they are great condition. I drive back roads going home all the time and wish I had the money to just walk up to doors and make offers on stuff.

I got bit by that one with my K5.

I was skeptical about it though, due to all the mold or whatever that stuff was on it. I had to scrape it off the windsheild with my knife to check the VIN.

Glad I didnt get my hopes up, b/c he was wrong....

Re: CL Adds

Maybe we can get the environmentalists to go after the mag chloride.

I knew they were good for something, I just didn't know what until now.

Sand is cheap and they can sweep it up in the spring and re-use it next year.

Re: CL Adds

Not only is Colorado 0% humidity, they have an abundance of sand to use on the roads. No salt in the winter and dry almost all year long means nice sheetmetal for many years.

Re: CL Adds

Well they used to sand the roads, I joke it was pea gravel. But now they put mag chloride on the roads which is killing things quicker than salt. It is just brutal stuff. Especially to chrome.
