stepside box and posi ???
Been keeping an eye open for a better shortbox bed locally as mine and most others I find are beat and usually rusty. I phoned about a short stepside that is said to be rust free with a few dents and needs new wood. The guy also has a rebuilt 3.07 posi and a sand blasted and painted frame. (All that's left from a failed 1978 2whdr short step project)
Seems it cost more to buy individual pieces than entire beat up project trucks, but good boxes and posi are few and far between. What are you guys paying for good boxes, posi's and if needed a clean frame. I want to see if I can do a package price for the items. HB

Re: stepside box and posi ???
I bought my 81-87 stepside rust free (although had dents and minor damage) for $900 this last January. Sold my wide bed that the step replaced for $700. Couple years ago I bought a whole 81 short wide w/no motor but lowered, full exhaust w/headers, 10bolt posi and cal-tracks for $900. Swapped out the goodies and resold the truck for $600. I did have to drive from Michigan to Wichata to pick up the 82. I feel its better to get a good deal on a failed project than individual parts/pieces.
Also if buying or switching to a stepside. Weather your using single or dual tanks get all the hoses for the fuel fillers. They are not reproduced. Even the filler necks themselves are differeent. It killed me to call several salvage yards in the area only to find "we always cut those off when we remove a bed". John
