question on bagged front end

Do you guys have to air up the front end quite a bit to clear the fender wells on a turn? I have the Cool ride kit up front and yesterday was the first day I drove it in 3 months (took a while to get everything installed) and I had to jack the front end up to 110psi to clear 20's.

Tell us more about your set up. What year truck, what size 20's, dropped spindles, etc.

It is an 84 with belltech drop spindles and the full cool ride front suspension upper and lower strong arms, their bags and shocks. The rims are Helo Skids with 275/45/20. And I belive they are 20x9.

Yep, that tire size would be why you're having to crank the pressure up so much for turning. A 245-40 (27.7" tall) would be max height & still be able to turn lock-to-lock w/o interference @ 'ride' type pressure.

I put 255-40's on my static dropped 74 (3" spindles, 1-coil cut) & I could barely move down the road as it was constantly buzzing the tops of the inner fenderwells. They're 28" tall. If you're set on that rolling stock combo & size, you're going to need to do some inner fenderwell surgery.

That 110psi is also raising the weight of the engine.
I have Slam Specialties RE-7 bags on the front of my blazer. I ususally have to air up to about 100 psi just to get the front up high enough,... but then I drive it at a lower pressure. (80 psi).
I have 245/40-20's up front.

For point of referrence I have the same set up on my 77 with a 245/40/20. I can cruise at 65 psi and ride at 80-84 psi.

Thanks! I thought the tires might have been a bit big when I got the rims and tires. They were used and a steal with tires for 250. I will just have to save up for lower profile tires later on.
