Electric Fuel Pumps

Can you guys recommend an electric fuel pump? Would be for a stock L-31 Vortec 350 going in my '69 C-20, not sure on which carb yet. Would running it deadheaded into the regulator have any effect on lifespan? I posted here instead of the Engine section, cause I thought you guys might have more experience with electric fuel pumps.

Re: Electric Fuel Pumps

If your sticking with the vortec mpfi, then the ACDelco EP381 is hard to beat. If your changing to a carb, I'm a big fan of the Mallory 140 on the street. Have a couple out there that have been running since the late 90's, and a 250 that has been on my Nova for 5+ years. Just be sure and run the pump off a relay with GOOD voltage. Low voltage is what kills a great many electric pumps.

I just did my taxes and reviewed my SS statement. Thanks to the current administration it looks like I will only have to work till noon on the day of my funeral.

Re: Electric Fuel Pumps

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be running a carb. I'll look into that Mallory.

Re: Electric Fuel Pumps

There have been a few posts on this recently. Do a quick search. It basically comes down to preferrence. I like the Aeromotive units. I think the Holley units are the only ones that a few of us don't care for.
