I might be joining you guys soon...

I got a lead today on a '65 panel truck. I haven't seen it yet but a good friend of mine told me about it today and said it was a very nice AZ panel.

I would kill to have this truck! This body style is my favorite of almost all of the Chevy trucks ever made and I love panels! I will keep you guys posted and post pics ASAP.

Don

You bet.....come on over!

It seems that more and more people are realizing that the '60-'66 trucks have a real cool style and lots of class. I hope you can make a deal on that panel.

The guy was asking 1200 (or was it 1500, either way...) bucks for the truck. I think my frind was thinking about trading some paint and body work for the panel. That would be sooooo worth it. I would love to have a panel... I just gotta convince the wife it was worth it, oh wait... no I don't...

Good move Don.
We'll need to whisper so they don't hear us next door, but the 60-66's are much more desirable than the 67-72's.

I had a chance to buy a '64 stepper back in 2005. But I missed out on the deal. I worked for a dealership owned bodyshop that took it in on a trade for a newer truck. I offered them three times the amount of what they gave the owner but someone else apparently had their eyes on it. Dang!!! I have always loved the style of the early '60's over any other style of Chevy truck. I appreciate my '67 stepper, but I still drool when I see a early 60's Chevy. They just look tough and have such a sweet overall flow to the design. Hopefully....

Re: I might be joining you guys soon...

I will definitely be joining you guys.Just can`t say when right now.I love all early GM trucks up to`72,and still like them newer, too.I got stuck on 67-72s as an everyday truck way back when and never let.I love how each series evolved from the one before, keeping up with the pace of America. This area I live in wasn`t as kind to the 60-66s for year`round driving.I`ve had one hot rod short Fleetside and a 4wd Stepside, both red.I have always wanted to replace them.I have my eyes out for a long Stepside/Fenderside.I know where a 1/2t 2wd Chevy is with a big back window, but it`s alot of work.
Nothing wrong with a well kept secret. These trucks are from the tail end of the jet age and are style +.

You won't regret it.I've had 18 vehicles in my life and have to say this is my favorite. What motor and tranny are in the 65?
