new 86 2wd

Well...i didnt have enough to do, so I picked up another project. Its an 86 Blazer body sitting on an 80 model 2wd frame. The body is in really good shape and its all nice and clean. It had a 327 with a big cam and a nice knock coming from the bottom end.
it was already lowered with a flip kit in the rear and some hardcore cut springs in the front..
and it came with a set of 20" Centerline Champ Xl wheels

Re: new 86 2wd

I picked up a fresh 350 for a song, and had planned to reuse the cam from the 327, but it ended up having 2 lobes rounded off.
So, I bought a COMP 270H and put in before i dropped it in the blazer.

I didnt really like the wheels that came on it, so i sold them and bought a set of chrome 22" U2 wheels. I wanted the chrome since I plan on making this my daily driver.

The next thing on my list is to get a set of spindles on it and a notch in the rear

Re: new 86 2wd

Looks good, how is the interior? Are you going to finish off the red, black the whole thing or just leave the color?

The interior is not too bad, but it needs some TLC. it is tan though which is a plus in my opinion

I will probably paint it red, but the clear is peeling on the roof, so i may put a fresh coat of black on to hold me oveer til spring time

Re: new 86 2wd

Yeah it looked really cool, but it was a little too low. I raised it back up about an inch. I will hafta get some new pics.

The wheels are U2-55 I'm not sure exactly what the back spacing is but the wheels are 22x9.5" with 265/35 tires. I will look up the backspacing when I get home.

Re: new 86 2wd

So, it's a flip in the rear and a spindle & spring in the front. But what drop spindle and what spring did you use?

Thanks,

E

Its a flip in the rear, and a 2.5" spindle with 1.5 coils cut off the stock spring.
