Can you find the $40 grand?
Seller claims it took $40000 to build this truck--if that's the case I'm gonna need about $80k to get mine where I want it.
40 grand, yeah right! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=5348

40k and the interior looks like that? if the motor is what he says it is, there is quite a bit money in there. but certainly not 40k.....
also noticed he made no mention of the lift and or tire size? Last edited by Prerunner1982; 01-22-2003 at 03:04 AM. |

I really doubt that engine is making 495 hp, especially not with that air filter and what looks like a POS Accel distributor. And what's with all the blue--it clashes with the yeloow something terrible.

I want some of what they are smokin! If he spent 40K, he was taken to the cleaners. It's nice, but definately not 40K nice. For that much, I would expect the hood and fenders to line up correctly. Check out the poor weld job on the straps for the front suspension. For 40K, I would expect the frame and engine compartment to be clean enough to eat off of as well. It's nice, but....

I agree with y'all. I've been watching this auction on and off the last couple of days. The only way it was every $40k is if he had everything done on that truck by shops that charge too much labor. If he did it himself, 12k tops! And that's being liberal.

The body lines don't match up between the cab and the bed.
Missing trim pieces at the bottom of the interior doors, holes not filled. K&N filter plates with a generic air filter. Overall nasty engine compartment. Painted over corrosion/crud/whatever on the frame. Like you guys, I don't see $40k attention to detail.

40,000 bones and he can't fix the front bumper after doing a body lift?
Front and rear bumpers have to go, along with the dual shocks, moonvisor, and tcase spacers. The inner wheelwells needs to be put back and and those low hangind ugly exhaust needs to be redone. The only reason I can see that he uses those limiting straps up front is that he ordered the wrong size ugly shocks and didn't want to buy new ones. He certainly isn't flexing a lot with it. The tie rod with three steering stabilizers is just a nightmare and needs to be thrown away with a rockrod put it its place. And the 3" body lift needs to go in the garbage where it originally should have been placed. Maybe then, the fan shroud will actually be doing something. I have to say one thing - to his credit, he didn't put any chrome show bars *shiver* in the bed. -- Mike

I'm in no way a 4x4 expert, but, no way I can see 40 grand in this rig. I spotted way too many things he left off when detailing this thing. I'm talking things that would have been cheap to fix, but he didn't know better or seem to care.
I'm guessing he built it to use and decided to not go with a lot of show and chrome, but for 40 grand, it could be a lot better.

I may be wrong, but I belive he was refering to building the new business will cost his client $40k+, not the truck. There is no way his truck has that much money invested in it.

That engine shouldnt have cost more then $5000 top to bottem.
The rest of the truck shouldnt have cost more then $8000 MAX And his reserve it met at $7100? Thats quite the loss if he put $40,000 into it.

if he put $40K into that, someone needs to look all over the truck for the other $30K. its probably stuffed in the seat.

Ugghhh that is on POS truck. I'm lucky to live here in the Northwest (I count my blessings every day after living in Connecticut!). Anyhow, a truck like that would bring no more than $6000 around here, and with the obvious rust on the frame, I doubt you could get $3000.
That interior is hideous. No A/C, no tilt, lame dash pad cover, ugly dash, switches and knobs missing or added, and that's only SOME of the problems with the INSIDE. I think that guy who paid $7300 will be cursing this guy for a long time.

hideous is right. I struggled to find 2 or 3 things that I liked about that truck.
...triple mismatched steering stabilizers? puke yellow? (not even a cool tweety bird super clear coat yellow) Limiting straps welded to frame? wanna-be rear bumper? rattle can blue&black interior plastic? dual tanks disconnected? the list goes on and on and on.. if you look in the back ground of some of the pics you can see that its at a used car lot. F!@#ING used car salesmen!!!!! should have known. 7K is a ripoff for the truck. Its not even smog exempt yet. mike |

The bid history on this--looks fishy to me. What are the odds: You have 4 bidders that have 1 or 0 feedback and their first or second purchase is gonna be a $7300 truck that IMO ain't worth it. Plus, the guy that won it hasn't made an Ebay purchase in over a year and then decides to buy this abomination. Strange???
