No "Start" position when turning key. 1983 6.2L K5
Picked up a 1983 M1009 K5 blazer a few months ago and just started messing with it. Had no starter when I bought it. Replaced that with a good one.. Now I'm just wondering what needs to be fixed in the steering column, it will turn to the run position but not any further.. Is there a simple fix? Can I turn it to the run position and use a screw driver to jump across the starter just to see if it will start, or will that mess stuff up?

Column or ignition could have been changed but not by me... I got it directly from the DRMO lot.
