Anyone ever chop top a burban?

Curious if anyone has ever chop topped a 73-91 suburban? If so do you have any pics?

I don't think anyone on here has, but I have seen one before.

The one I saw had a big chop and did not look that good, if you do one just take out 2"-3"out. Much more then that it just makes it look longer..

Re: Anyone ever chop top a burban?

That's pretty cool but don't think it would go with a 2wd suburban. Its an awesome idea for a 4wd though.

I think this one could work as a 2wd drive as long as you didn't go so low that you had to ditch the rear seat. It would be odd, but I think it could be pretty cool. Could you imagine people calling back seat in the summer time instead of shotgun?

Re: Anyone ever chop top a burban?

Ok, I had a friend play around on photoshop & I can now see why not many people have done this. There's a lot to have to line up. Its definitely do-able but not sure its worth the effort to only lower the roof 2".

Re: Anyone ever chop top a burban?

I had drawing to do that 5yrs ago, but don't have the skill or the tools to do the work. It's like and old school avalanche.

Justpball...someone on here did do a suburban chop top. I can't remember his screenname though. I think he currently has 2 older suburbans laying frame, his is a 62 and he just built a 72 burb for his son.

Re: Anyone ever chop top a burban?

looks terrible but I admire the hard work. what kind of hood is that? and the 73-80 front bumper looks weird. But I do like the racing stripes and the SS grill badge lol

looks like a homemade cowl, it might look better if it was slammed!

Chop, rally stripes, SS badging, and 31" rear tires.

He almost had it...

It would look better lowered.

My thoughts exactly. That would've been my next step on that suburban, tub the back, stuff the biggest slicks I could fit & slap on a blower. As is it looks unfinished to me but like what it could be.
