Raised bed floor?
I am thinking of buying a wood kit for my steel bed and I want to raise the bed to cover my notches in the frame. How easy is this to do? Any pictures and information would be great.

Re: Raised bed floor?
Build an aluminum 'sub-frame' that sits on top of the existing steel floor. Attach the new wood floor to it cutting out the steel floor for clearance where necessary.

I've been thinking about this too. Has anyone found a good wood kit yet?

Re: Raised bed floor?
I'm lucky, I have a stpeside bed so raising it will be pretty easy. I plan on using 4" c channel to raise my bed. I will cover it in my build thread when I get there.....

Re: Raised bed floor?
one more shot, one more thing make sure you are positive about how low you are going to go before you do the bed floor, i wasnt planning on buying a dropmember when i did mine, well now i have one and i wish i would have raised it more

Re: Raised bed floor?
i dont know for sure i am just now getting to welding in the rear stepnotch , i am going to keep everything as low profile as possible, but i think to clear everything and not have anything sticking up through the bedfloor you would have to raise the inner fenders all the way up to the bed rail... like i said i havent got my frame done yet as soon as i get it welded up i will set the bed back on the truck and take more pics than i will know for sure
