Why is there so many choices
I have a 54 chevy truck that I have stretched 6” and chopped 2. I will be raising the running boards to the bottom of the cab to get it closer to earth. I got most of the body work done on the cab and I’m about to venture in to building the frame. I’ve been on the all the pro touring sites and even looked at IRL suspension but nothing seems to stand out far as suspension set up for the truck. I am leaning towards just running the corvette front suspension c6 with a 3 link rear, but can’t come across the dimension for the control arms. If any you have suspension suggestions for the truck please let me know I really want this truck to be able to turn some good numbers on the track.

Re: Why is there so many choices
Well I really dont have a answer for you, but a lot of people will say if you're going to run vette suspension to get the Porter Built kit
Im not gonna tell you that going vette is the way to go, because I dont know But I do have a 67 GMC that some day will be a road race truck with full custom tube chassis & a high powered diesel engine From what I have read on here, I dont think doing IRS suspension is going to be much better than leaving your solid axle in Hope you get a good answer from somebody |

Re: Why is there so many choices
I spoke to a couple of people about the front suspension and they said my track width needed to be around 60" for it to handle right because of leverage on the a-arms. Why is the overall width have anything to do with the a-arm leverage and length can't you just move the a-arms mounting points in more.

Re: Why is there so many choices
The only reason I am thinking vette is because there is always replacement parts and upgradable components. Are you going to build your own chassis are have some one do it. With my truck i am building it from scratch and hopefully everything works out.

I am going to build it from scratch myself
On the control arms I am with you, you should be able to move the mounting points in to narrow the track width, but what the ideal leverage is I dont know |

Re: Why is there so many choices
I would suggest two options. First would be to consider an IFS from Scotts Hotrods- LINK They are a forum Vendor and offer a top quality IFS that can be custom tuned to your needs. I have purchased from them and can attest that they are good people to work with.
One that I just came across but know nothing about is the IFS cross member for '47 to '55 3100's - GM Metric Based by Scott Danforth. It appears to be new to the market so your on your own- LINK

Re: Why is there so many choices
C6 is way to wide, C4 fits much better and is considerably cheaper. Jay

Re: Why is there so many choices
I have looked at Scott’s suspension they look great I will give him a call and pick his brain on his kits. Thanks for the leads I always like supporting fellow sponsors it takes a lot of balls to venture out on your own and compete with all the big name shops. Still doing some research on Danforth suspension. After talking to porter built if I do go corvette it will be c4. Thanks again guys.
