Joining the club...
Well, I don't have a build thread for you cause I bought the truck already done, but I'm the proud owner of a 65 fleetside shortbed. I've lurked on this website for some time, but this is my first post. I know most of you build your own trucks, but I just don't have the time these days with working too much and giving the rest of my time to my wife and 3 yo son. I still love driving and tinkering with classics though.
I saw this truck on ebay and it was done in exactly my style... pretty much what it would have looked like if i had picked all the parts myself... except for the big block. I probably would have used a smaller v8 for mileage purposes... but the bb has the cool factor. So it's a 65 with a 396 hooked to a built up 700r4 and 12 bolt posi rear endwith 373 gears. It's got a static drop with coilovers in the rear and a custom interior and sound system. Here's some pics.... |

Very nice truck. I know you bought it already played with but do you know who makes that steering wheel? I would like to have a light blue one for my 69'.

Re: Joining the club...
Thanks everyone for the compliments... I really lucked out on this one. It's done really well and exactly to my taste and the price was way less than it would have cost to build it.
Camaronut... It's a Billet Specialties wheel (half wrap). Funny you mention the wheel... It was possibly the one thing on the truck I was considering changing when I got it, but it's grown on me now. |

Re: Joining the club...
I hate you!
Just kidding... beautiful truck, hard to beat black and a big block for the cool factor. And that buckskin interior looks sweet. If I had any sense at all I would have done the same thing and just bought a finished truck. But I just gotta cut stuff up....... Last edited by lakeroadster; 02-10-2010 at 09:07 AM. |
