has anyone used the floorpan from a 67-72 to replace rusted floor in a 60-66?

the replacement pans for the left and right front floors do fit 60-72, however there are bound to be minor differences, such as the different front mount location on 60-62
rather than cut up a good 67-72 I would look into just buying the patch panels you need for the 60-66, they make pretty much all that is needed, and you will save yourself hours of labor trying to retro fit the later pan.

i may have to replace the entire floorpan and i was given a complete rust free floor from a 72' i thought it might save some time to replace the entire floorpan insted of patching it back together mine is pretty much gone from rocker to trans tunnell on both sides and the 72' floorpan was a freebie from a friend

measure it up and see. It looks close enough to try it . If not you may get enough to get to the edges and use the 6066 floor ends.

Differences, but certainly do-able. I have never tried it, but if you have a MIG and some metal-working skills, you should be able to do it.

Patch panels, made for the '60-'66 Chevy/GMC trucks is the best option, since finding a donor 4-5-6 Chevy/GMC cab with a rust-free floor board is rather rare and if you found one, it is probably good overall and could be used in it's entirety. For the cost of patch panels and your time to install, if may be in your best interest to find a good donor cab, to use in place of your rusty one.

Replacing an entire floor pan on a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC truck is a major undertaking, since you will have to totally disassemble the entire lower end of the cab, including the front & rear cab mounts and the factory spot-welds at the adjacent panels, including the firewall, kick panels, inner rocker panels, outer rocker panels, cab corners & rear skin. I have done patch panel repairs on many of them and I don't know if I would try to replace an entire floor pan, considering the number of hours required to do so.

It is hard to beat a free floor pan from a '67-'72, but these cabs don't lend themselves well to doing a complete floor pan replacement, the way we see guys doing it on Power Block TV.

i'll tell you what if tony says it's hard then i would say don't try it .just my 2 cents . replacing just the panels are hard enough .

I think I would just hunt the bone yards for a new cab at that point. who knows what else it rusted on it. Too bad you were not out this way. There is a nice cab sitting at the yard I rent at.

Go to the 67-72 Blazer section and see the floor pan work going on under the thread title "left for dead", very tedious time consuming work but when finished you still have original sheet metal.

ive decided to cut the 72' floorpan to fix my 67' i picked up today i have several sections of 65' floorpan that ill use on the 65'
