Re: shaved antenna help
Hidden Antenna Kit
Description: •Mount anywhere in any position - great for under-dash install. •Allows for the removal and smoothing of your factory antenna cutout, rod and mast. •Has the same range as standard FM antenna; minimal loss of AM signal. Now you can add the smooth, clean look of a shaved antenna without sacrificing your radio signal. The AutoLoc hidden antenna system offers all the performance and quality FM reception of an external antenna without breaking up the clean lines of your vehicle. The AutoLoc hidden antenna system can be mounted anywhere in any position; even under your dash or behind your seats! http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts.as...tfamilyid=1546 http://www.google.com/products?hl=en...&sa=N&start=20 And dont forget SIRIUS Satellite Radio. I have this in my 06 Ford F150.

My dad has one in his 1969 AMC Rambler American.

Re: shaved antenna help
FYI: Speaking from personal experience hidden antennas do not work as well as the old school standard antennas. I put one of the hidden ones in my Model A Hot Rod and it only picks up very strong signals.
That's why modern cars still have antennas. You can bet they wouldn't go to all the trouble of installing them if the hidden ones worked just as good. |

I've had better luck just mounting the stock or even a cheeseball aftermarket antenna in a hidden location (under dash, inner fender, ect). I've heard from some other people about not getting the greatest reception with the hidden ones as well.

Re: shaved antenna help
^^^ thats pretty sick! but yeah the hidden antennas work.. not something to go cheap on tho i have put in som pretty nice ones that stick to a rear window and resemble a satalite radio antenna but ru off your radio and a 12v source "battery".
