My 66 Longbed in AZ

So Im finally posting a thread of my own. Here is my truck. It has a 283 in it and sounds sick! I put a new cam in it, exhaust with dual Flowmasters, new intake, headers, rebuilt carb. I have been working on it a long time. Here are some pics over the last year or so......Check em out! This is what it looks like now.

Notice only 1 pedal now? I took out the old and nasty 3 speed trans and put in a TH350 with a shift kit. I got that aluminum trans cooler mounted under the radiator.

This is what it use to look like.....I had the bed off because I put the gas tank in the rear. The fender was off also because I was doing some body work to the fender.

Cool.

How much did it cost to have the windshield replaced?

Also, your stereo unit dash area looks like it sticks out, vs being recessed, did you customize it?

Through my insurance, it windshield was FREE! I have glass coverage. As for the stereo, the owner before me kinda cut it up so I had to make a custom plate to accept a stereo. Its just some sheet metal and ABS plastic that comes with a stereo kit.

DPowers,
I actually cut the holes in the bumper for the lights that are in my grill (if you can see them). Now I guess I will have to put some in there......

Here are some pics of when I freshend up the engine a little. I cleaned it all up and put on an aluminum intake manifold, new timing chain, cam, timing chain cover, and some new valve covers. These pics are of before...I will post more of what it looks like after....

Gorgeous engine work. I've got a 62' C20 with a 283. they do sound cool as Hell. It looks like you were able to do more on your own than I was though. Nice.

We also have the same tranny cooler. I stuck mine on the frame under the passenger side. It's the one thing I did on my own that turned out slick.

Nice score on the FREE windshield.

Yes, I'm jealous as Hell.

Here are some pics of the mild C notch I did from CPP. I cleaned up the frame and hit it with black "Hammered" paint. It was a bolt on install.

Re: My 66 Longbed in AZ

Here are some more pics of the rear gas tank install. It was from LMC. There was no instructions to I had to make it work. It came out way better than having the damn gas tank behind the seat (what was Chevy thinking?!). I used a filler hose from the junk yard and a gas cover from a 99+ chevy truck.

I like the truck and the progress but...thats a huge no no on the frame being cut for the filler neck...
