#15, a 64 gmc

my newest acquisition... a 64 gmc 3/4 ton.
I had asked the neighbors kids about this 3 years ago, and they said it was thier uncles, fast forward 3 years and the uncle came back to town, they remembered to tell him I asked about it(!?), and he stopped by and sold it to me!
this one has just a mint tailgate, and the box is a 9 out of 10, it had a camper in it for 20+ years.
It has a 425 caddy and an automatic jammed in it, and it "ran when parked" in 1996, and then again in 2002.
I will need to fix a few things with the ignition harness, and the fuel system, but it looks like it might be a runner.

probably the main reason I was interested was the factory spotlight, that will fil the hole on my 65 dd. another bonus was the "city chevrolet" emblem from a great falls dealer that is also missing off my dd.

at some point he had hit a deer, and put a chevy front clip on it, and it has a real nice hood.

$200!!

Any close up pics of the spotlight! Is the glovebox door melting?

I just saw a 425/400 combo on C/L today and saw the front sump oil pan. That would explain the notch. Quite a collection you're building.

Re: #15, a 64 gmc

are these stock for a gmc? I have another gmc with the same mirror bracket, and the sunvisors seem stock...

check out the notch they cut into the crossmember to jam that caddy in there, the cut a couple holes into the firewall as well
...and the rusty rockers were "fixed" with what looks to be 2x2 square tubing.

Nice custom speaker job you got on there. And for some reason I think they mounted the carb in the wrong place. But seeing the rest of the truck I could be wrong.

I go to too much work to mount mine; I forgot they would stick by themselves!

Re: #15, a 64 gmc

you should see the fuel lines, I could probably mount that extra carb where it sits....
the seat, and tilt/teloscopic column are probably out of the same caddy the engine and trans came out of...

Awesome Parts truck Jon
IIRC the sunvisors had no clips (but those look good there)
The mirror head might be correct but the bracket is definitely not
Good score on the tailgate, that's sweet lookin'

here is a pic of the spotlight, it said unity on the light housing, and the lamp and housing is quite small.

Re: #15, a 64 gmc

Thanks for sharing your photos. Not sure how you get anything done with so much to pick from. Nice score on the spotlight, particularly if you need one for your other truck. It's probably an S5 (5" bulb) instead of the more common S6 version. So much straight sheet metal for such a small price, of course that crossmember looks a bit scary.

hey, is that a "pinto" shifter in the floor? that used to be the most common way to make a swapped in auto shift.
