Carb adapter

Does anyone know of an adapter to put a 2bl on my 250. What's the best carb to put on a stock 250?

I used the transdapt adapter. You have to use a holley carb, I went with a 350 cfm. Also you should look at getting new linkage brackets for throttle and kick down (if running auto). I used a heat shield type of carb gasket since the adapter/carb base don't properly seal with regular paper style gaskets.

Thanks for the info. No, not looking for more performance. Can't seem to find a 1bbl carb in my area for a reasonable price. All the parts store have to order a replacement 1bbl and are ranging 200.00 and up. What are my options in a 1bbl replacement. I have a carter YF on it right now.

I am leaning towards a Weber 32 36 progressive 2 BBL or the twin made by Holley 5200. the holleys came on mid-70s pintos and mustangs (made under license for Weber).
I found some info @tom Langsdon stove bolt pages and some other inliners forums. Langdon sells a Trans-Dapt adapter for the Holley Weber to the stock I-6 manifold. I have called and spoken with him but have ordered it yet.
The I-6 250 does not need over 350cfm. There is a formula I found somewhere on-line about how to size the CFM required. Something about RPM X displacement divided by number of lug nuts(ha ha ) =CFM required
Other guys have used the webers on everything from VW ,Porsche to mazda trucks to old street rods with the sixes. Supposed to be easily tunable and good performance and very adaptable .
It is the next purchase on my wish list. I have PM'ed a member here who has a holley weber on his truck and had no complaints .

I have a couple of friends running that style carburetor on their 1600 bugs. I'll have to ask if they have an extra one laying around.

There are two styles of Weber 32 36.It depends on rotation of throttle linkage. one model goes CCW the other model is mirror imaged and turns CW . They also can be manual choke or electrical choke or water heated choke (Not on air cooled VW )
