audio capacitor?
has anyone installed an audio capacitor to stop their lights from dimming when the engine goes to an idle? is it possible to install it from the battery to the fuse box to stop this from happening? i know car audio enthusiasts use it with their amplifiers to stop the lights from dimming when the subs hit but i was curious if it would help the power output to the lights and stereo.

Re: audio capacitor?
The capacitor will only smooth out voltage spikes, but it wont help much in the current area which is were your problem would be, for the price you would pay for a capacitor and the wiring, you'd almost have the alternator upgrade paid for, especially if you go look for one in a pull-a-part. The electrical faq section has great info on the alt and relay upgrade and I got my 100 amp 12si alternator for 20 bucks.

Re: audio capacitor?
Don't know anything about an audio capacitor, but if what you are after is to stop the headlights from dimming at idle, the easy way to fix it is to install a pair of relays in the headlight circuit. Here's a link that explains how:
