1970 HO52 No Spin 4.11 rear 3rd member
Ok, wondering what I should ask for the Center section removed from my HO52 Rear in my 1970 3/4 4x4 suburban. SPID listed No Spin and it looks like the No Spin from this thread, although much better condition:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=2358674 I turned it and it goes around just over 4 times at the drive shaft for once around on the gears, so I am assuming that means 4.11's. I didn't have a pen and paper handy to get the numbers on it, and my camera was at home and the cell didn't get them, but I should be able to get those today. The gear oil that came out was a little dirty, but not bad. It was reddish still when the light passed through it while draining. There is a little biy of scale on a couple of the non-moving parts from where it sat (you can see the line on the two side clips), but the moving parts all look good, and there is no pitting on the gears. Not sure if it was replaced or rebuild at one time or not. The axles also looked really good, and are available (not sure what they are worth) So what should I ask for this? Here are pictures:
