Question HOW TO REMOVE LIGHT SWITCH?

HELLO, JUST BOUGHT A 82 3/4 LWB CHEVY. IT WAS A CUSTOM YEARS AGO. IT HAS A BURBAN FRONT CAP (88-89). WELL I TURNED THE LIGHTS ON THE SECOND DAY I HAD IT AND THERE WAS A DELAY BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY CAME ON. NOW, THE HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON AT ALL. THE PARK LIGHTS WORK FINE, JUST NO HEADLIGHTS. I'M THINKING IT'S THE SWITCH, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PULL IT OUT. A NEW SWITCH IS ONLY ABOUT 25.00 AND I'LL CHECK THE WIRES TOO. HELP!!, ANY OTHER IDEAS????

Make sure its not the dimmer switch, they do the same thing to you, if they are faulty.
About the only way to check, is to unplug, and jumper the dimmer switch terminals with the light switch on... see if the light work, then..

To remove the switch is relitivly easy. Look on the switch body (behind the dash) for a small push button.
Turn the lights to full on...depress the push button in and gently wiggle out the rod for the lights. Sometime they come out real easy other times they take a little working with.

Hey DBLSPRT68, could you tell a little bit more about your truck? maybe post some pictures? I like seeing and hearing about custom 3/4 tons, cause there's not too many that I see. Thanks

Thumbs up

MY TRUCK IS A 3/4 TON LWB. IT HAS 16 INCH OZ WHEELS, DUAL TANKS, TILT, DISK BRAKES,POWER STEERING, HAD FACTORY AIR (MISSING COMPRESSOR), STOUT 350 WITH STRONG TH400. IT'S BLUE WITH BLACK BLAZER BUCKET SEATS AND CONSOLE. THE 88 BURBAN FRONT CAP LOOKS COOL!! IT ALSO HAS ONE OF THOSE HEADLINERS WITH 4 SPEAKERS AND A DOME LIGHT MADE INTO IT. THE TRUCK WAS BUILT SEVERAL YEARS AGO, IM GUESSING BECAUSE THE PAINT IS PEEELING ON THE BED, I'M GOING TO FIND OUT MORE FROM A PREVIOUS OWNER. I WISH I HAD A WAY TO POST A PICTURE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS COMPUTER STUFF VERY WELL. I WORK ON 60 MILLION DOLLAR AND UP JETS, BUT I HATE COMPUTERS. I'LL LET YA'LL KNOW HOW MY HEADLIGHT PROBLEM GOES WHEN I CAN GET TO IT. DAVID
