Re: What did you get done 4/18/10 weekend after tax day edition
Got a piece of dash spliced in where some idiot had hacked it for an aftermarket radio. Got a factory radio wired up and working. Swapped out cluster panel and wired a factory clock. Cleaned a used cluster bezel up, took all the peel and stick brushed aluminum off.
Basically got the interior all put back together and wanted to drive it home. Had put a piece of cardboard under the engine area to make sure we stopped the oil leak (sending unit). It looked nice and dry under there. But.... under the rear end was a huge puddle... Seems my pinion seal is shot. Guess what I'm doing next weekend.

Re: What did you get done 4/18/10 weekend after tax day edition
Okay, I completely remove the entire front and rear suspension from my 80 donor truck. Cleaned the suspension parts. Fixed two smallish dents in my hood, primered the hood and front valance, and then blocked out the hood. Then went home and mowed the yard, trimmed a tree, and burnt the trimmings. That was on Saturday, then today wet sanded the hood and front valance, then shot them body color, base coat/ clear coat paint. Washed the front clip of my truck and washed and cleaned the engine and engine bay. Then went mushroom hunting, only found about a dozen, the biggest being about 2" tall. Then I had to be a work at 3 pm.

Just got home from Super Chevy-Petersburg. Had a blast, spent too much money, made new friends, won runner-up in my class!

Drove back from Gatlinburg (27th Anniversary Trip) yesterday after checking out 3 days of rods in Pigeon Forge, TN. The 87 is at the body shop getting undercoated and paint touched up. Should be back home tomorrow.

Re: What did you get done 4/18/10 weekend after tax day edition
On Sat, my dad and I went and picked up a hood for his '66 C-10. Today (Sun) I spent most of the day tinkering with my Blazer. Pulled the rear bumper, the rear hitch setup, and then dropped the gas tank to replace the leaking fuel hoses. Ended up cleaning the tank and painting it, same deal for the hitch and the rear frame rails and bumper brackets. Also repainted the bumper filler and kinda-sorta straightened some kinks in the bumper. ...Now if only the rest of the Blazer looked that good

Nothing as exciting as that here. Seriously, hope all are safe and sound! Had to work the day job part of Saturday morning but came home and mowed the rest of the day. Yard and even the pasture got done finally. And yes, here in east central Illinois spring has arrived and so has my annual routine spraying of our driveway,(my wife laughs at this near obsession of mine about not wanting weeds or grass in our gravel drive), then a trip to Harbor Freight for a some more nut & bolt storage units for the shop's "misc hardware section" and a set of "insurance"/jumper cables for the C-30 if it or someone else ever needs it. Wife brought home a new flag for the rural homestead I dutifully installed,(it is lighted as well), and add a stop at Wally World for fuel on a Sunday errand run in the C-30. An enjoyable week-end overall. Truck ran great and was a pleasure to drive! Mark

Picked up some 275/60's off of CL for the Blazer and had them installed on the rear... deciding if I wanna do the front with 275/60's as well. Decisions desicions!

Re: What did you get done 4/18/10 weekend after tax day edition
those are almost looking over engineered. haha
for me... not very much done to the truck, pulled a couple things out of the blazer, founds out that i had the wrong valve seals so the motor is on a stand still... as for the bike... for some new forks for it (feels 100X better now), and put in a order for a new helmet, etc.

I worked my butt off Saturday and took the day off and BBQ'd with the g/f's family Sunday. Not doing anything truck related until I save up some serious $$$

Re: What did you get done 4/18/10 weekend after tax day edition
Pulled the old crappy starter and installed a new high-torque mini starter, chased down an electrical issue, discovered the 8 month old Diehard battery was DOA, got that replaced under warranty.
Pulled the side mirrors off and painted them a metallic black to match the trim line on the truck.
