I just redid my front end. All new tie rods and centerlinks, new bushings, new ball joints, and new rotors and pads. This job sucked!! The truck rides a lot better though so it was worth it. Hope y'all like!

Yea, it sucks! I did the same thing to mine. I have noticed that one of my lower ball joints will pop out when I jack it up and take the spring pressure off of the lower control arm (I've got 3in drop springs). I was thinking of replacing it, but I'm wanting to upgrade the controle arms first.

Sounds like your asking to get stranded beside the road. If you have that much play in the ball joint, it's going to either fail, or pop out when your driving.

Yea, I know. I forgot to say it's when then nut is backed off too. It does stay in place when the nut is tight. But in the end, I only drive it on the weekends (sometimes). So it should be able to last untill I can buy the controle arms I want.

I reeeeeeally need to do this to mine, everything but the brakes/springs is shot. What's it generally cost for all the parts for a front end rebuild?

Looks good. What brand suspension kit did you use? I'm about to do the same to my 84.

I used DJM 3" drop spindles and 2" shackles. I have some 2" hangers, but have not got up the courage to try and do it. The hangers are gonna be a pain.

Seriously, the hangers are easy. Time consuming, but easy. I did mine in the garage. Drop the gas tank first. Jack it up as high as you can.
Buy a good big face shield, gloves, and something leather to cover your arms, and a grinder. Grind off the heads to the rivets, once you can see the outline of the hole get a drill and drill out the center of the rivet. Then punch them out. DONE!

i was wondering is your truck a silverado or a scottsdale?

It's an '84 silverado. Light duty brakes.
Lol, I didn't realize the fender emblems showed. The passenger side fender came from the junkyard due to some minor damage.
