a few pics with the new bed
I finally got some pics with the new bed on. messed up thing was that i never once thought to look which side the gas door was on. sadly to say my truck used to have dual tanks but only had one on the passenger side when i got it and the only gas door i have is on the driver side. im still debating though whether to put a door on the passenger side and shave the driver, or just put the tank on the other side, or just leave it rigged like it is now and still shave the one on the driver side.
its hidden under my wheel well there on the passenger side and right now isnt a pain to get to either. even ran outta gas already once since then and didnt have a problem with the long funnel either. but depending on how much i end up dropping it, it might not end up that easy to get to, especially with the 20x10's in the back on a 315/35, so im still in the air about it. i would like everything shaved tho, i am planning to shave the gate and the stake pockets up top, painted and shaved suburban rear bumper or maybe a steel roll pan. was thinkin of relocating the gas door to something custom in the top of the bed like the front stake hole location or something, but kinda concerned with spilling gas all over the paint, which most likely wll be black with a blue pearlcoat or a really dark metallic gunmetal with a silver pearlcoat. im a ASE certified bodyman so definately want something that will show off the smoothness of the truck, just not too flashy. tell me what you guys think. even have been lookng for a boat gas cap or something. as for the wheels, i have my eyes on a deal im hoping to close by next friday on a set of four 20x10 bzo's with enough backspacing that i can tuck them up front hopefully. going for the hotrod truck kinda look, want the taller and fatter tire in the back, and a smaller one up front. maybe 4" drop out back and whatever up front to make it rake and look right.

Re: a few pics with the new bed
yeah this one i found was all beat up but not rusted out and for $100 i couldnt pass it up. even with the sides all grinded down it looks better. i straightened most of the metal, but still have to weld up the small rust spots at the bottoms and the stake holes, was starting with the bed first since it was the worst, besides needing rockers on the cab. its comin along slowly
