84 Front Suspension Swap
I picked up a suspension from a 84 c10 to drop into my 65 c10. I know a few of you have done this swap before so I had a few questions, here goes: Am I better off swapping over the arms and steering linkage or should I swap the whole crossmember. I have a I6 230ci in there now and the crossmember already has 6 cylinder mounts, will it line up? Has anyone had any luck finding a good set of 6 lug rotors for this setup? Thanks alot guys I appreciate all of your help!

Re: 84 Front Suspension Swap
With the engine in place, it's a bit easier to swap just the arms and steering linkage. I've done it both ways over the years. It's a wash in the end, one way requires engine support while crossmember is out of truck, the other requires wrenching those dman u bolts in and out.
If you swap the crossmember, the engine mount holes will line up as they do now. I have an 84 crossmember under my heap so I speak from experience.

Re: 84 Front Suspension Swap
I did not change the crossmember when I did mine because I didn't see a reason to. I was replacing the control arm bushings anyway so they were coming out anyway. If I had to do it again I would do it the same way.

Re: 84 Front Suspension Swap
I changed the complete crossmember dust cap to dustcap from an '84 Suburban. It has been in since '01. I don't know if one way is better than the other, it was just my choice. Good luck
