Should I use 2.5" or 3" spindles with 5" rear springs?
I am in the process of installing an '85 front suspension on my '65 shortbed stepside. I plan on using the stock front springs off of the '85 and just installed 5" drop springs in the rear. I want the truck to sit level with no rake in either direction. I planned on running 2.5" drop spindles in the front which I ordered and have sitting in my garage. I am now second guessing myself and wondering if I should have ordered 3" spindles instead. I am installing a 350/700r4 combo just so you know how much weight will be up front. Does anyone have any photos or input to help me make a final decision either way?
Thanks, Derek

i used 3" front 5" back on my 66. But i did not change the front end, still has the 66 under it. But it sits dead nutts level. Not sure what it will be with the 85 front end under it. Hope this helps some.

It does, thank you. After thinking about it some more I am going to use the 2.5" spindles and if necessary cut off a 1/4 coil or so to level it out.
