Even though my tuck is factory air equipped, I plan to trade it out for a vintage air system. It will give me more room in the engine compartment and is a fairly simple install. I figure if I'm going to spend almost $1k to rdoe the factory unit, I may as well go for the Vintage air and have a better end result.

Re: I want a.c.,opinions on stock vs aftermarket
If Vintage Air gets you out of vacuum controls, then go for that. My stock A/C causes the vacuum operated cruise control to cut out when the A/C is on high and nobody can figure out why. Also, the connector to the fan switch is worn out, causing the fan to be intermittent - so I think you would be better off if you can go with a new electronic HVAC control.
