Rockers dont seem to sit right, any ideas?
I just had front floors and rockers installed in my 71 Jimmy and they seem to be too far in and up a bit. with doors adjusted all the way in, they are still not flush with rockers. I feel they are installed correctly. Please look at the pics and tell me what you think.

Rocker seems fine. Looks even with the quarter. Alos looks like the door is sticking out past the quarter.

Did you have them done with the top on or off? Was the cab braced? You might need to shim a couple of panels.

Doesn't seem right to me, I can see where it's sunk in, who did it?

Top was on. cab was not braced because top was on. rockers line-up everywhere else. I have adjusted the doors more since these pics and the fit is better, but still bottoms of the doors stick-out about 1/4 inch past rockers. The one pic that shows the front fender way out is partly because the fender bolt is not installed in that side yet.

Yeah this pic is the one that caught my eye. You say the fender isn't bolted down yet, I would go and install it at least temporarily and see which 2 of the 3 components match up. As in the fender, rocker, and door. Personally I don't like to judge how something is by a door that could be out of adjustment from years or previous owners, but the rocker and the fender should at least line up pretty good.

Okay, more info. removed the fenders today and found out the A pillar patches are just welded OVER the old ones? Not cut out and replaced. How much of a difference will this make, I would think it is causing the fender to stick out farther than it should.

I almost hate to tell you guys, but when they built these truck. They were just that "trucks" And the fit of things on them was terrible to say the least. I was their when they backed mine off the truck, and spent three days adjusting doors, hood, and hatch. And before you ask, why I didn't make the dealer do it. It's because Jimmy's were new to the dealer, who's mechanics where what I call "sledge hammer mechanics" They only worked on big rigs. Most of you guys who have re-done yours, they are far, far more perfect than they ever were when new.

Mine looks just like yours. I will have to replace mine again. The guy I bought mine from didn't brace the body and I don't think the top was on. My doors stickout at least 1" past the front of the rocker. They line up with the rear just fine. But both of them go in at the front. I will get pictures tomorrow.
