That is a cruise control vacuum diaphragm. The cable should attach to the accelerator at the carburetor. I don't believe it is the correct one for our trucks as they were mounted on the firewall, but I have seem these on 70's and 80 model GM vehicles.

That is the correct cruise for his truck. It isn't on a 67-72 truck. It is correct for his era truck 73-80(?) Trevor

It's a cruise control servo.

looking at the photo, you are 100% right.
And I am moving it to the 73 - 87 part of this site.
Why would it be in the 67 - 72 parts???

yup, cruse, but not like the one on my 79. it just had a rod from the front of the diaphragm to the carb, not that bracket.
