Re: Axle Help
I had the same issue man. C20 can be a nightmare... Here is the kit you will need to get everything to be happy and work together. Just give CPP a call first and let them know what you are doing to they can be sure to get you the right components.
http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...k/6072DRCK.htm I converted to a 5 lug axle out of a 70's chevy car, I will never go back! 2nd Best modification to the truck next to power steering... You will also need an adapter u-joint from your 3/4 driveshaft to your axle I will try and see if can did up a part number for you. |

I also would like to know the gear ratio of the axle I am thinking of buying. The axle is located quite a distance and I don't want to take a ride and be disappointed. Number HB0407W2 6 lug. |

Put matching marks on the pinion yoke and differential housing. Jack one rear wheel off the ground, put the transmission in neutral, and the parking brake off. Turn the wheel exactly TWO revolutions and count how many times the driveshaft turns, estimating any fractional turn as closely as possible. That number is your axle ratio. If the wheel is difficult or impossible to turn, you may have posi. In that case, jack both rear wheels off the ground and turn either of them only ONE revolution. Count the driveshaft turns the same way as for an open rear. Ray |
