Re: 61 Apache

Your question is unclear. Different compared to what - a 1960, or every 60-66 except the 1961?

Re: 61 Apache

I think it was just a name carried over from the '58's and '59's which were Apache's even though the complete truck design changed.

Re: 61 Apache

I wonder why they never carries the name over? And do you know what was the last year they stopped? OR was it 1 year only . C-10 C-20 etc has been pretty muched carried on through the years, but "Ithink" around the early '70's they srartted pasting the names on all the different truck? Not saure, just seems that way to me.

I know there was:
Apache
Cheyenne
Scotadales (GMC)
Chevy LUV's (was that even a real truck?)
Sierra And A bunch I probally missed.

Re: 61 Apache

apache was just the name of the light duty trucks.
61 was the last year for the apache name, 62 changed over to just the c/10,20, ect...

an apache was available as a 10, 20, and 30 series. the big trucks were refered to as a viking, 60 series and up, there was a spartan available too in the real big trucks, however I do not know the year ranges refered to as spartan, they might have replaced the viking name in the later years.

the main thing to remember is the name "apache" is no big deal for buying or selling, all 61's were apaches, with exception for the big trucks of course.
