Does anybody have a 60-62 with custom dash knobs (headlight knob, wiper knob)?

Re: custm knobs
Should you happen to need a knob for a rotary switch (like my heater fan switch) I found a pretty cool knob. It’s actually a windshield wiper knob for a 1948 Chevy truck. Most of the classic truck suppliers carry them. They look like a miniature version of the inside door handles.
http://www.americanclassic.com/Googl...KB845-1948.htm Here’s a photo of the knob installed in my truck. I got my ball dash knobs from SoCal Speed Shop. They are called “Shoebox” knobs due to their similarity to the 49 Ford dash knobs. Although they appear to have a spun finish in the photo, they are highly polished like chrome, which can be seen on the switches further down in the ad: http://www.est1946.com/so-caldashknobs.aspx Clayton Machine Works also makes some attractive knobs: http://www.claytonmachine.com/prd2_knobs.html And this outfit makes beautiful knobs, and may have something of interest: http://www.koolknobs.com/ There are also a variety of sources for laminated style knobs and billet aluminum versions if those appeal to you. |
