Re: hey guys!
Sounds like a fun bonding project, without pictures and any idea what trucks sell for in your area its hard to say if its a fair price. I think if you want it bad enough and have the money, grab it up. The thing to keep in mind is that the frame is different under the 60-62 from later ones so parts are a little harder to find that are "direct" fit. What are the final plan for the truck?

Re: hey guys!
Welcome to this side! The price all depends on whats available in your area and what people are willing to pay. Out here, 2k will get you a decent running fleetside. The BBW is going to keep the price high as will the hood (that's the cool nose one right?). In the end, it boils down to how bad you want it and how bad the other guy wants to get rid of it. Sounds like a fun project, I dig working on stuff with my kid and he's only 5. Can't wait til he can actually finish some of the projects he gets me to start!

Re: hey guys!
I agree with what’s said above, price is really dependent on local conditions and availability of good examples in your area. The following thread may prove helpful in evaluating what to look for:

Re: hey guys!
Without motor and trans, the body and frame better be in real good shape for 2k. Sounds like a fun project.

Re: hey guys!
I would investigate the usual spots for rust and stuff, take a magnet around the cab corners, rockers and rear of the fenders. If it is truely rust free, then I would offer maybe $1000. that is it. Has the guy had it for sale for a while? if so, just go on up look it over real good. make a big deal out of any rust you see, then make ur offer. if he doesnt like it, walk away leaving your number if he changes his mind.

Re: hey guys!
concur with 61 FL Apache - without motor/trans - $2K seems steep. if the body is excellent and no rust, dings, etc, then maybe. But if your goal is bodywork practice, I would be willing to bet you could find a running candidate for less. (Big window helps the price, but I'm just sayin...)

Re: hey guys!
Welcome to this side of the board. Sounds like ya'lls heart is set on this truck. Since there are no pics to look at, look it over really good. I also think the front suspension is a torsion bar setup. I could be wrong. If so it's something to consider. Keep us posted and good luck.

Re: hey guys!
The only way I would consider $2k is if the truck is rust-free and not missing any of the hard-to-find trim pieces. Otherwise, it is just another rusty truck that is missing expensive parts. The engine and transmission aren't such a big deal, but the seat could be.
