Left Door Vent Window
Well I done did it!! I opened my little triagle vent window on my drivers door and the bottom stud/pivot broke so now it's just flapping by the outside hinge. How hard are these darn things to replace. I looked on LMC and they are a pretty penny $349.95 OUTRAGIOUS!!!! Any ideas to my delima?

Re: Left Door Vent Window
They look like a PINA to swap out. What needs to be done to change them.

Re: Left Door Vent Window
for me the hardest part was the screws in the door frames(rusty).had to tap them with a hammer while turning them(seen with door open) yellow dots on door frame
and one screw on top of door-up red arrow window crank clip 4 screws across the bottom- yellow dots 2 screws in handle area- yellow dots 1 screw side edge-yellow dot red dots are bolts to remove under panel and there will be a small crew (to remove)holding the inside to the outside just under the vent window......jimmy and wiggle it out

Re: Left Door Vent Window
And the front channel for the door glass is integral with the vent window assembly, so you'll be removing and replacing the operable window glass as well. Unless there's some way to leave it connected to the mechanism, and simply line the vent window and track, with the door glass? Haven't had to do this yet, but have the vent window assembly and a bare door sitting on my workbench, awaiting some time to work on it.
Pretty sure that the 'hinge' point of the vent window, is integral with the frame. I too was shocked by the price in the LMC and various catalogs, and scored a used vent window assembly from the salvage yard. Seemed like the easiest way to solve the problem, but it has turned intoa pretty involved repair. Good luck with yours!
